Everblue, an organization that specializes in online training and instructional design, has been contracted by the Minnesota Department of Commerce’s Division of Energy Resources (DER) to increase the efficiency, quality, and effectiveness of the Minnesota Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP).
Supporting Minnesota’s Weatherization Training Initiative
The contract includes two key deliverables:
- Development of a Weatherization Installer Badges training program
- Hosting the training content in a custom online learning management system (LMS)
Everblue will complete both projects before the end of the year.
Developing High-Quality, Accessible Training Content
Anthony Ericksen, a senior instructor at Everblue, will lead the creation of 25 online training modules focused on weatherization and energy efficiency. His background in building science and professional acting allows him to deliver engaging, high-quality instructional content.
These modules will provide standardized training that can be accessed anytime, anywhere—making it easier for professionals working in the field to build and maintain their skills.
Delivering a Custom LMS for Flexibility and Scale
The training content will be hosted within a custom LMS developed by Everblue’s software team. This platform enables users to access courses from any device with an internet connection, offering flexibility for professionals who work on job sites rather than in offices.
“Hosting content in an LMS provides greater access to those who are always on the go,” said Chris Boggiano, president of Everblue. “It’s also a secure and reliable way to distribute standardized training at scale.”
Everblue worked closely with the Minnesota DER to customize the platform, configuring over 200 detailed settings, including user permissions, course progress tracking, scoring, badging, and reporting.
“In addition to delivering impactful training, we’re making Minnesota’s vision for an accessible and user-friendly learning platform a reality,” Boggiano said. “The system reduces administrative burden and runs seamlessly in the background.”
