Everblue, a nationally accredited, innovative technology company, is partnering with the University of Florida’s Pesticide Information Office to create a new online testing option for aspiring pesticide applicators.

Bringing Pesticide Certification Online in Florida

Going forward, test-takers will have the convenience of completing their exams from home, the office, or virtually anywhere with a reliable internet connection. While in-person testing options remain available, Everblue’s online exams are accessible 24/7.

“We know many business owners and licensed individuals are excited about this opportunity,” said Jon Boggiano, Everblue's chief innovation officer. “Licensees can now test and immediately get back to work without commuting to UF/IFAS extension offices or other locations. The new process saves time, money, and stress.”

A More Flexible and Convenient Testing Experience

Candidates will still apply for certification and receive a voucher, but they will no longer need to schedule a specific testing time. Once they receive login credentials, they can access the online test portal immediately and complete their exam at their convenience.

A Collaborative Effort Driven by Need

Although discussions around online testing began prior to COVID-19, the pandemic accelerated the need for a remote solution. Everblue, the UF/IFAS Pesticide Information Office, and FDACS worked together for months to develop and implement this system.

Dr. Brett Bultemeier of UF/IFAS shared, “Thank you to the Everblue team for being so flexible and responsive. This has been a herculean effort, and we’re grateful to have such strong partners.”

UF/IFAS championed these improvements to better serve licensees across Florida, demonstrating a strong commitment to efficiency and accessibility.

Secure, Scalable Testing with Room to Grow

“Florida’s move toward online test proctoring opens the doors to unprecedented levels of security, customization, and quality,” said Chris Boggiano, president of Everblue. “Our user-friendly interface provides a better experience and faster results.”

Everblue will initially deliver, proctor, and score five certification exams:

  • Core
  • Ornamental & Turf
  • Right-of-Way
  • Aquatic
  • Private Applicator Agricultural

Additional exams are planned for future rollout.
