The Utility Analytics Institute has invited Jon Boggiano of Everblue to present to its Safety Analytics Community about how digitizing paper documents can improve communication and safety.

Transforming Safety Through Digital Innovation

Boggiano will draw on his experience working with one of the largest utilities in the Northeast, demonstrating how converting a traditional safety document into a dynamic digital experience can improve response times, engagement, reporting, and overall safety outcomes.

“Our digitization services are not solely about replacing paper documents with technology,” Boggiano said. “The most important step is understanding the human element.”

By interviewing cross-functional teams, Everblue redesigned the job briefing document into an interactive, mobile-responsive form tailored to different users and real-world scenarios. The result is a tool that employees not only use—but actually prefer.

Real-Time Communication Improves Safety Outcomes

Everblue’s solution goes beyond digitizing forms. The system integrates automated workflows that instantly route information to relevant stakeholders in the field and office.

This eliminates delays associated with paper-based processes, such as transporting documents back to the office and manually sharing updates. Instead, all parties have immediate access to the latest job site information.

“By rapidly improving access and communication, we also improve safety,” Boggiano said. “When everyone is working from the same, up-to-date information, the risk of gaps or misunderstandings is significantly reduced.”

Advancing Safety Analytics Through Human-Centered Design

The Safety Analytics Community focuses on reducing serious injuries and improving hazard awareness through better data and processes.

Leslie Cook of the Utility Analytics Institute noted that Everblue’s approach stands out because of its emphasis on the human side of digital transformation.

With more than a decade of experience leading innovation and process improvement initiatives, Jon Boggiano continues to help organizations modernize systems in ways that are both practical and people-focused.
