The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) will introduce the option of online pesticide certification exams through a partnership with Everblue, an innovative technology company specializing in digitizing and automating processes.
Moving Beyond In-Person Testing
Under the state’s legacy process, certification candidates were required to schedule a specific date and time and travel to a DMV location to complete their exams in person.
However, shifting consumer expectations—driven by COVID-19 and rising costs—have made in-person testing less appealing. Candidates are increasingly seeking convenient, online alternatives that eliminate travel and scheduling constraints.
Introducing Online Certification and Remote Proctoring
Using Everblue’s proprietary registration and test delivery system, candidates can now register online and be immediately enrolled in on-demand exams. After completing a system check, they can take their certification exam from home.
The platform also includes:
- Virtual exam proctoring
- Automated scoring
- Secure transmission of results back to the state
Improving Efficiency for Candidates and State Agencies
By eliminating manual processes associated with paper-based exams, Everblue helps VDACS improve efficiency and productivity.
Automated workflows streamline candidate enrollment and test delivery, allowing information to flow between systems without staff involvement. This reduces administrative burden and enables staff to focus on higher-value tasks.
Everblue currently supports online education services for a growing number of states, including Arkansas, Connecticut, Florida, Iowa, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Rhode Island, and Tennessee.
“The state departments love working with us because our system is secure, requires no scheduling, and can be accessed from any computer with an Internet connection,” said Chris Boggiano, president of Everblue. “Our expectation is to handle the heavy lifting of setting up, maintaining, and delivering secure, remotely proctored exams.”
